An ecological artist and storyteller, Lydon is founder of City as Nature (Osaka), and arts editor for the Forum for Radical Imagination on Environmental Cultures at The Nature of Cities (New York). His practice inspires empathic relationships between humans and the environment, informed by years of nomadic study with farmers, monks, and urban environmentalists in Japan and Korea, and academic studies at San Jose State University (BA), Aichi University of The Arts, and The University of Edinburgh (MFA). He co-directed the film Final Straw: Food, Earth, Happiness, part of the Buchanan Prize-winning Global Environmental Justice Collection. Other recent works include pieces for YES! Magazine, Kyoto Journal, and Routledge Press, and exhibitions at Setouchi Triennale, Scottish Poetry Library, and David Brower Center. Lydon enjoys walking with mountains, befriending old trees, and tending a natural garden with his wife in Osaka.
