My name is Ben Smith, I'm 31, I live in Fresno, CA, and I have an educational background in Mathematics and Philosophy from CSU Sacramento. For the last 5 years I have driven coast to coast as a CDL commercial driver, listening to audiobooks like How Change Happens by Duncan Green of Oxfam and podcasts like The Portal by Eric Weinstein 11hrs/day 4 days at a time from one coast to the other.
On a very personal level, I am passionately interested in exploring and navigating potential solutions to societal problems. Whether it be disinformation, climate change, economic inequality, whatever it is, it is my prerogative to understand these issues to such a degree that they may be adequately addressed and resolved in meaningful and sustainable ways.
The best approach I've found is in collective problem solving, taking advantage of multiple disciplines and perspectives to develop the best solutions possible. As such, I am always interested in collaborating with others on potential solutions and being of service in any way I can.
